FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to the things people ask most about SpinDuty. Still stuck? The how-to guide walks through every feature.
Is SpinDuty really free?
Yes. SpinDuty is completely free with no sign-up, no account, and no download. Open the page, add names, and spin.
Are the spins actually random?
Yes. Each spin picks a winner using your browser's random number generator, then animates the wheel to land on that result. There is no way to influence or predict the outcome, so every name has an equal chance.
How many names can I add?
As many as you like. The wheel automatically re-generates evenly spaced colors so segments stay distinct even with long lists. Very long names are truncated on the wheel but shown in full in your list.
Do my names get saved?
Your list is stored locally in your browser so it survives a refresh or a return visit. Nothing is uploaded to a server — the data stays on your device.
Can I stop the same name from winning twice?
Turn on 'Remove winner after spin' and each chosen name is removed from the wheel automatically. It's ideal for assigning several tasks in a row or drawing raffle winners without repeats.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. SpinDuty is fully responsive and works on phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops. The wheel scales to your screen and the spin button is placed for easy thumb reach on mobile.
Can I give one person better odds?
Yes. Add the same name more than once — duplicates are allowed and each entry is its own segment, so a name added twice has double the chance of winning.
What's the Yes or No Wheel?
It's a dedicated version of the wheel with just two options, Yes and No, for quick either-or decisions. Use the main picker when you need to choose between real names or tasks.
